Week of November 28th

Monday, November 28 - Assembly Wednesday, November 30 - Advent Liturgy   Friday, December 2 - Hat Day $2, Library Day Wednesday, December 7 - Hot lunch December 14th, 5:30, Christmas concert for grades 1 and 2. This past Sunday marked the first day of Advent! In our classroom we put up our Advent Wreath and we are learning the meaning of the wreath and the candles. This week's theme is hope; We wait in joyful hope for the Saviour to be born. Christmas Party  We are planning to have a little Christmas party on the last Friday in December. We would love to have parents come join us and help. We haven't decided on morning or afternoon as we are planning it with our other grade one class. We would like to do a gift exchange in our classroom. Please wrap and send a pair of fun Christmas socks. Monday, November 21st Tuesday, November 22nd - Chicken Soup Lunch Wednesday, November 23rd - Youth Group evening activity at Christ the Redeemer. Friday, November 25th - Hat day for $2 Monday, November 28th - Assembly, 1E wear green for our Saint Team! Wednesday, December 14th - gr 1+2 Christmas Concert, 5:30 Hi parents! It was great meeting all of you for parent teacher interviews, thank you for taking the time to come to the school and chat about your child. If you missed booking a meeting, please contact me and we and we can schedule something. Christmas Concert: Our class is putting together a little nativity scene that we will record on video. For it we need costumes. If you have anything that we could use for shepherds, kings, angels or anything else please send it with your child. Shepherds and Joseph usually have robes and a tea towel or cloth on the head. Mary would have a blue head cover and white robe. I need some garland for halos. The sooner the better! Thank you! Tuesday, November 8th - Parent/Teacher Interviews, Book Fair Wednesday, November 9th - Parent/Teacher Interviews, Book Fair - Mac and Cheese Hot Lunch Thursday, November 10th - Formal Day - Dress up in 'formal wear', Remembrance Day Assembly 10:30 Friday, November 11th - No School, Remembrance Day Monday, November 14th - No School, Day in Lieu Wednesday, November 16th - Dental Screening Last week was a whirl-wind! We had lots of fun at school on Halloween, we played games with another grade one class including 'pin the nose on the jack-o-lantern', 'throw a hoop over the pumpkin' and others! In the morning we made a fun scary puppet and the kids are excited to make a play with their puppets. On Tuesday we had our All Saints mass. It was lovely. Mrs. Unger and Mrs. Folk have put together a nice choir of our grades 3 to 6 students and they sing very nice. Thank you for signing up for interviews.
